About CityVoice
Telling urban stories through photography
Our Mission
CityVoice is dedicated to capturing and sharing urban narratives through the powerful medium of photography. Our platform serves as a bridge between photographers, storytellers, and audiences passionate about city life and urban experiences.
We believe that every city has a unique voice, expressed through its architecture, streets, people, and culture. By documenting these aspects through high-quality photography and thoughtful narratives, we aim to foster a deeper understanding and appreciation of urban environments around the world.
Our mission is to:
- Showcase diverse perspectives of urban life
- Support emerging and established urban photographers
- Create a visual archive of cities and their transformations
- Promote dialogue about urban issues through visual storytelling
Photovoice Methodology
CityVoice is inspired by the Photovoice methodology, a participatory research approach that uses photography as a tool for social change and community engagement.
Photovoice enables people to:
- Document their community's strengths and concerns
- Promote critical dialogue about important issues through group discussion of photographs
- Reach policymakers and people who can be mobilized for change
Through our platform, we adapt this methodology to urban contexts, allowing photographers and community members to share their perspectives on cities and urban life. By combining images with narratives, we create rich, multidimensional stories that capture the essence of urban experiences.
